Shattered Home : 3D Co-op Exploration & Restoration Game
Overview
Shattered Home is a contemplative two-player co-op game set on the ruins of a planet collapsing into an internal black hole. Together, players operate specialized scientific gear and environmental machinery to stabilize the core and restore life to the surface.
Audio Direction
Grounded Sci-Fi: Processed public NASA telemetry, plasma wave recordings, and electromagnetic captures to build tactile, believable audio for instruments and anomalies.
Dynamic Contrast: Juxtaposed the heavy, low-end pull of the black hole with warm, evolving soundscapes that bloom as areas are restored.
Co-op Legibility: Prioritized distinct frequency ranges for player-driven feedback and tool telemetry so cooperative cues stay clear even during complex environmental shifts.
Implementation & Tech
Spatial Systems: Set up 3D emitters and distance-based filtering tied directly to the gravitational center and terrain fragmentation.
Interactive Tooling: Built low-latency audio hooks for physics-driven tools and collaborative puzzle mechanics.
Mix & Optimization: Structured strict voice concurrency limits, organized modular banks, and tuned dynamic ducking to keep the mix clean during heavy physics events.
